Our world craft selection is proving continually to be a massive hit with customers.
It is a hugely popular collection, whether served from a bottle, can or on draught, as we continue to search the globe for new and exciting products for your craft beer enjoyment.
American Pale Ale (4.5% ABV), from Shipyard Brewing Co, is the latest to join the Wetherspoon collection. Available on draught, this is a great combination of US brewing and the best of British blended American hop varieties and English barley – for a refreshing pale ale.
That American theme extends further with our draught Devils Backbone American IPA (5.2% ABV), crafted from an original recipe from the Virginia-based brewery and a favourite with customers for the past year since its launch in autumn 2014.
Both products are brewed here in the UK, to guarantee freshness, and are made to the exact specifications from their American counterparts.
Sixpoint Brewery, in Brooklyn, is the inspiration behind two of our exclusive canned US offerings: The Crisp (5.4% ABV) and Bengali (6.5% ABV).
The Crisp, as its name suggests, is a super-clean and crisp (yet complex) Pilsener-style lager, with light hay and straw hop notes. Bengali offers an abundance of citrus hop bitterness in its blaze-orange home-brewed IPA interpretation.
13 Guns American IPA (5.5% ABV) completes our trio of canned US craft beers. The Crafty Dan beer, a salute to the original 13 States of America, delivers an intense hit of hops.
The heavy influence from ‘across the pond’ continues in popularity, with Lagunitas IPA (6.2% ABV) and Brooklyn Lager (5.2% ABV).
Californian Lagunitas IPA is a smooth, easy-drinking, fruity beer, with strong notes of grapefruit, strawberry and lime, while the amber-coloured Brooklyn Lager, from Brooklyn, New York, is a flavourful Vienna-style lager beer, with hints of caramel and marshmallow.
Two UK bottled beers are among the selection: BrewDog’s Punk IPA (5.6% ABV) and Meantime London Lager (4.5% ABV). Scotland’s Punk IPA is a light golden transatlantic fusion IPA, with tropical fruits and light caramel on the nose, plus a sharp, bitter finish. It is a fresh, full-flavoured, natural beer and a tribute to the classic IPAs of yester-year.
London’s Meantime London Lager is the quintessential English lager, bringing together East Anglia’s malting barley and Kent’s hops. The combination is a straightforward, clean, long-matured, unpasteurised lager, where all you can taste is malt and hops.
Angry Orchard Crisp Apple (5.0% ABV), from Ohio, USA, joins Orchard Pig Reveller (4.5% ABV) and Aspall Suffolk Cyder (5.5% ABV) in the line-up of craft ciders.
It is a balanced cider, with sweet, ripe apple notes up front and a dryness in the finish.
Lush and light, a medium, gently sparkling cider, Orchard Pig Reveller (4.5% ABV), from the award-winning ‘Rooted in Somerset’™ craft cider producer Orchard Pig, is a true celebration of Somerset!
With a hearty aroma of West Country cider apples, it is a crisp, refreshing and lightly sparkling cider with a tangy note of freshly squeezed lime.
The gentle sparkle enhances the flavours, giving a light and moreish cider – fewer bubbles mean more apples. If you are unfamiliar with cider, yet enjoy a gin and tonic – the sparkle, crispness and notes of lime make Orchard Pig Reveller your perfect cider. Why not give it a try?
We have also enhanced our German craft beer collection with Tucher Helles Hefe Weizen (5.2% ABV) joining Krombacher Pils (4.8% ABV) and Erdinger (5.3% ABV) in the range.
Tucher Helles Hefe Weizen is a light, cloudy and tangy wheat beer, with a yeasty finish.
Sapienza Meisterhefe yeast, as well as Bagou wheat malt and light barley malt, lends this beer its distinctive yeast aroma. When consumed, it is prickly lemony, with full-bodied banana and kiwi notes, staying fresh for a long time, with a tangy aftertaste.
Tucher Brewery is part of the great tradition of the Tucher family and its values, craftsmanship and tradition, with strong roots in Germany’s Franconia region. The brewery upholds the high standards of Bavarian beer-brewing, extending back to 1672.
