Best bank holiday drinks

What are the best drinks for a bank holiday weekend?

• Events

Whether or not the weather matches your mood, there’s no greater feeling than a long-awaited bank holiday weekend stretching out before you on a Friday evening after work.

Whether you’re enjoying the holiday in Scotland or Ireland (1 August) or the holiday in England and Wales (29 August), why not join us in the pub, with friends?

August Bank Holiday with Wetherspoon

Our pubs will be updating their bank holiday opening hours across their pages. If you’re in any doubt, please use the telephone number on their page to call the pub directly – they will be happy to help.

We’re looking forward to the holidays so much that we’re already planning what to drink, preferably in the sunshine.

Need some help deciding? Our favourites are below!

Pimm’s and lemonade

It goes without saying, really, but Pimm’s is an all-time favourite for the British summer holiday. We believe that it should be enjoyed the traditional way, with cucumber, mint, orange, lemon, lime and plenty of ice.

Pimm's at Wetherspoon

We’re the world’s number-one seller of Pimm’s and hold a Guinness World Record, from 2014, for selling the most pitchers of Pimm’s across our pubs in 24 hours!

Cider

We have a range of ciders in our pubs, all perfect for a hot and sunny bank holiday. On draught, you can enjoy Magners, Thatchers Gold and Strongbow Dark Fruit.

Thatchers is a traditional cider produced in Somerset. All Thatchers ciders are 100% gluten free, making them suitable for those with a gluten intolerance; they are also suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

Craft ale at Wetherspoon

Magners is a premium Irish cider, crafted with the finest blend of 17 apple varieties, picked from orchards in Clonmel, Tipperary. Now available on draught for the first time in the UK, at your local Wetherspoon pub, you can enjoy at any time, with family and friends, chilled straight from the tap, with or without ice.

We also stock a wide range of bottled craft and fruit ciders – so, there’s something for everyone!

Soft drinks

We offer a range of soft drinks, with Sanpellegrino being a delicious and refreshing summer option.

We have added the blood orange flavour (Aranciata Rossa) to our soft drinks range, lining up with the already-popular lemon (Limonata) version.

Sanpellegrino sparkling fruit beverages are made from an age-old traditional recipe. The combination of water and freshly squeezed sun-ripened Italian citrus fruits and sugar is carbonated to add zest.

Prosecco and wine

Why not enjoy our Teresa Rizzi Prosecco with your friends this bank holiday? It’s a wonderful sparkling wine, available as a 750ml bottle to share and a 200ml bottle, if you fancy just a glass.

Prosecco has enjoyed a huge surge in popularity, and we believe that bubbles shouldn’t come at a price!

Wetherspoon Prosecco

If you prefer still wine, we have a great range on draught and in bottles. Why not search for your local pub to view its drinks menu for the full list?

Enjoy

We hope to see you in the pub this bank holiday, whether for a glass of one of the drinks above, a family meal or a coffee and a catch-up.

Enjoy your long weekend!
