Wetherspoon’s founder and chairman, Tim Martin, appeared on the iconic Desert Island Discs, on Radio 4.

He was interviewed by Kirsty Young – for the programme which first aired in January 1942.
Mr Martin said: “It was a wonderful experience, and I feel honoured to have been asked to appear on the programme.
“Hopefully, people found the interview enjoyable and also liked my choice of eight records.
“These included those from Bob Marley, Captain Beefheart and a Johnny Cash/Bob Dylan duet.”
